A stroll, Bullocks Flat

Wow, been a bit quiet on the blog front lately. Much has happened over the past two months and I have had bugger all time to get out and about. I'm working on one of those “reflecting on 2012” posts to explain it all, hopefully I get it finished before 2014.

In the meantime, here are some shots from a stroll Holly and I took today around Bullocks Flat on the Thredbo River. I'm really clutching at straws here as this was, at most, 5km of walking. But I found a really good tutorial on black and white in photoshop and wanted to practice.

We had a very nice breakfast at Lake Crackenback Resort and then followed the shared trail to the Thredbo River.

We crossed the snowy using the Skitube pedestrian access. On the other side I had scoped out an old relic, some sort of steam engine. After an incredibly taxing and difficult stroll along the river for 20m we got to the old roller.

Been here awhile

Must have been a pretty bumpy ride

Don’t know what this is, but I like it!

After the steam engine, we crossed back over and spent some time exploring the Bullocks Huts, a group of four huts that include separate sleeping, kitchen and guest buildings. There are also stables. Having said all that, I only took one photo, a shot of the main sleeping building.

And of course one more photo of the Thredbo River.

Love this spot, confluence of Crackenback Creek and the Thredbo River

And that was pretty much it. Really scraping the barrel but it is a really nice spot and highly recommended for people who may find themselves in the area and are looking for something to do on a lazy Sunday morning.

Gum trees are always awesome
